Im Epic Games Store gibt es jede Woche ein oder mehr kostenlose Spiele oder Zusätze. Rund um Weihnachten und Silvester wird es immer besonders interessant, da man sich dann in der Regel ein paar Top-Titel gratis sichern kann. Im letzten Jahr gab es insgesamt 16 kostenlose Spiele in der Aktion mit den geheimnisvollen Spielen. Geheimnisvoll, weil Epic die Titel nicht wie sonst schon vorab zeigt. Das macht es natürlich deutlich spannender und erinnert ein wenig an die klassischen Adventskalender.
Seit gestern Nachmittag gibt es dann schon Spiel 10. So bekommt ihr aktuell noch das Spiel SKALD – Against the Black Priory kostenlos. Das Spiel verbleibt dauerhaft in eurem Konto, sobald ihr es euch gesichert habt. Dafür habt ihr noch bis heute 17 Uhr Zeit. Danach folgt dann schon das nächste geheimnisvolle Spiel in diesem Jahr. Ab jetzt gibt es wieder täglich neue Spiele. Wer Interesse an dem kostenlosen Spiel hat, folgt einfach zeitnah den Links unten. SKALD: Against the Black Priory ist ein klassisch inspiriertes retro-RPG mit rundenbasierten Kämpfen, tiefem Rollenspiel und starkem Fokus auf Erkundung, Geschichten und Entscheidungen. Du führst eine Gruppe von Abenteurern durch eine düstere, von Geheimnissen durchzogene Welt, triffst taktische Entscheidungen im Kampf und erlebst verzweigte Quests, die durch deine Wahl des Vorgehens beeinflusst werden.
Das Spiel erschien 2021 für den PC und erhielt überwiegend positive Bewertungen, besonders für seine authentische Old-School-Atmosphäre, das durchdachte Regelwerk und die liebevolle Hommage an klassische CRPGs. Kleinere Kritikpunkte betreffen gelegentliches Balancing oder UI-Aspekte, doch insgesamt spricht SKALD vor allem Fans tiefgründiger, traditioneller Rollenspiele an.
